Job Description

Experience Grade: Mid- Level

  • Support the development & management of the company’s Health , Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and systems in line with the requirements of statutory bodies.
  • Support the HSE Manager in the development and enforcement of HSE Policies and Guidelines related matters
  • Conducting quarterly HSE audits and presenting the results to the project team.
  • Develop and delivers Site Safety Orientation Training for all workers including Subcontractors
  • Evaluate and analyze HSE issues; analysis of accident / incident statistics, identifying trends and introduce and drive corrective, improvement and preventive actions
  • Work with the QHSE team to Liaise with staff to ensure continued QHSE integration into core operations.
  • Manage company Health and Safety file.
  • Issue PPEs and enforcing staff compliance on site
  • Supports QHSE Manager in the preparation of Health and Safety documentation for new tenders. 
  • Updating of safety statistic board on sites at all locations
  • Ensuring the Implementation of tool box meetings, risk assessment, job safety analysis, issuance of work permit and controls on site activities
  • Observing, logging and ensuring identified unsafe acts/conditions are closed-out in their allocated timescale.
  • Completing and submitting a Monthly HSE project performance report.
  • Providing information, technical advice and support to the project team on HSE, including legislation, standards, codes of practice, etc.
  • Leading a weekly project HSE site walk and meeting.
  • Monitoring project incidents to ensure they have been properly investigated and appropriate and timely action has been initiated to prevent a recurrence.
  • Conducting an ‘Incident Review’ of all significant incidents and issuing a full report to the HSE Manager.
  • Assisting project teams to review HSE considerations in the selection of service providers, LDCs and Contractors.
  • Following Hamilton’s internal incident procedures for reporting significant incidents.
  • Supervises fumigation exercises at job site and locations
  • Monitor and manage safety equipment usage and maintenance on site/monthly inspections of safety equipment and reporting.

Desired Skills And Experience For This

  • A BSc. in Engineering, Environmental sciences or science related courses from a reputable institution with a minimum of Second class upper division(2:1)
  • Minimum of 7 years working experience in HSE Supervisory role or QA/QC role in the Oil & Gas Industry
  • NEBOSH Certificate ( is an added advantage)
  • Occupational Health and Safety Qualification ( Level 3) qualification.
  • Active Member of a Professional Safety institution ( eg. ISPON)
  • Seasoned HSE Professional with experience in managing safety risks in the oil & gas Industry.
  • Be proactive and able to work on your own initiative
  • Have excellent influencing and persuasive skills
  • Comfortable working outdoors on-site in various locations for the majority of your time
